Well this one is much later then intended since I’ve been sick alot this month. But I guess being done at the end of the month is kind of fitting.

Since my last post I’ve retired “Be more open with my friends”, I intend to replace it with “Be more frugal with my money”, as my budgeting has been somewhat unsuccessful in recent days.

So the current list is as followed.

  • Be more creative (Writing/Drawing/Digital Coloring/Website Building)
  • Play more video games
  • Spend far less time idly browsing the internet (Facebook/Twitter/Tumblr/TVTropes)
  • Eat more healthily
  • Exercise daily 30+ minutes
  • Find a new job
  • Sleep better
  • Be more frugal with my money
  • Stop being self-defeating.

As always, it’s a scale of 1–10.

This one has actually dropped to 8/10. I finished book 1 of Codex Alera but it took me much longer than it should have. It was an enjoyable enough book and I’m starting book 2 the same day as I write this post. My goal is to be on book 3 by the end of January 2018.

I’ve also been reading alot of lore from other series to help understand

  • Be more creative (Writing/Drawing/Digital Coloring/Website Building)

9/10. My editing of The Wayfarer Chronicles draft has been completed, it’s been sent to my friends who agreed to beta read and I intend to have it finished and published online by the end of January 2018/early February 2018. Then I’ll start writing the draft of book 2, I’m already writing the outlines for the story.

I’ve also been writing outlines of the lore/mythology/world building for The Wayfarer Chronicles in a notepad, it’s been going rather well. Now all that remains is to get all of the outlines expanded and written in detail for the website. Speaking of the website, I still need to get the website up and running, it’s still a work in progress.

I still plan to start attempt 4 on the story of Hartia Alastor (And come up with a better name) in the new year, but so far I haven’t started anything yet. It’ll be somewhere between March-June 2018 when I begin my attempt.

Drawing wise, there’s been alot of progress. I’ve had to remind myself frequently that it’s quality over quantity, but most weeks I’m able to get at least 3–5 drawings done. I could get more done, but I have a bad habit of getting distracted. That can be fixed in time. The goal in the new year is to begin my digital colouring once more and actually make some progress.

I’m not sure this will ever be 10/10, I have too much that I want to accomplish.

  • Play more video games

Still 9/10. I finished Final Fantasy Type 0 HD, by the end I was eager to be done with it, it gets rather repetitive. I’ve moved onto World of Final Fantasy since then but haven’t had much time to play due to Christmas and going away for the holidays. My goal is to be finished with it by the end of January 2018 and move on to completing Yooka-Laylee or Crash Bandicoot, along with working on my PS3 backlog. My PC backlog will need to wait until I can upgrade my PC’s hardware.

I’ve been playing alot of Pokemon Ultra Sun over the holidays and will be done with the main story in no time. I should be done with the post game by the end of January 2018 and back to SMT4, which I did make alot of progress on before buying Pokemon Ultra Sun.

Due to how few games I know for sure that will be coming out next year, I will have more then enough time to clear out my backlog a bit.

  • Spend far less time idly browsing the internet (Facebook/Twitter/Tumblr/TVTropes)

Still 9/10. This really hasn’t changed too much.

  • Eat more healthily

This one has dropped to 6/10. I’ve been trying but being sick has taken a toll on my eating healthily, this is something I intend to focus on so much more in 2018.

  • Exercise daily 30+ minutes

Still 5/10. I was exercising frequently with my exercise board, but it broke and I need to get it sent off to be repaired or get a replacement, it’s under warranty. Plus the whole being sick for a good chunk of the end of November as well as half of December really hindered that. Something to focus on in 2018, along with the treadmill.

I have a goal to lose 10–25 kilograms (22–55 pounds) every quarter, difficult but certainly possible. I intend to write a log about this. Plus my friends want to do Tough Mudder in May 2018, which is an endurance event. Hell’s bells that’ll be a challenge.

  • Find a new job

5/10. I’ve been applying for 5–10 jobs each week, trying to find something in admin or if need be, another call center. I’d prefer to not find another call center job as I have so many problems with working in one, but I will if I have to.

  • Sleep better

Still 8/10. Still need to try and get a minimum of 7 hours, because getting 6 or less on a regular basis is probably why I’ve been getting sick so much.

  • Be more frugal with my money

So in recent months I’ve become really bad at maintaining my budget. I have my rent, groceries, Go Card (Bus pass, gets topped up every fortnight), internet or mobile bill depending on the fortnight, my monthly Netflix subscription and the repayment of my treadmill. I try to save $250-$300 every fortnight but seem to eat through some/all of that somehow after spending the amount I give myself to use as I like.

Which is annoying and in the new year I intend to be as careful with my money as I can. It’s too soon to judge this one, so no score at this time.

  • Stop being self-defeating

Still 9/10. Still working on it.

So this month is out of 90, for a total of 68/90. It’s above average for out of 90, but if it was out of 100 it would be a step backwards. So let’s turn that around in the new year.
